Victoria’s Secret updated the DEI policy title on its website to “Inclusion and Belonging” and away from its former name, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.”
- The page used to say: “We believe that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is everything and we’re committed to ensuring we embed DEI into all facets of our business.”
- The page now says: “At VS&Co, belonging is foundational to how we operate.”
The old web page used to also include specifics like DEI governance, vision, and mission. The page now highlights vague statements like hiring the best talent and nurturing culture.
The Company Ended Its DEI-Related Promotion Targets
Victoria’s Secret had specific goals to hire a ” specific percentage of Black workers.” That quota has now ended, according to Bloomberg.
Summary
Victoria’s Secret essentially deleted D, E, and I from its website and reduced the impact DEI has on its hiring. The company still has what appears to be a DEI-esque program and team, but its role within the company has been significantly reduced.
