Paramount Ends ‘Aspirational Numerical Goals’
Source: In a memo, Paramount stated it will no longer set numerical hiring goals for race, ethnicity, sex, or gender. This marks a shift away from its previous DEI commitments. The company has also ceased collecting demographic data from U.S. job applicants unless legally required, a significant policy reversal.
But Paramount Stands By Diversity Ethos
“To be the best storytellers and to continue to drive success, we must have a highly talented, dedicated and creative workforce that reflects the perspectives and experiences of our many different audiences. Values like inclusivity and collaboration are a part of the Paramount culture and will continue to be,” the co-CEOs wrote in the memo.
Summary
Paramount is moving away from structured DEI hiring policies, removing data collection and hiring goals, aligning with changing federal and business pressures. Conclusion: Paramount has an active, but shrinking, DEI policy.
