Active In 2024

Macy was active on the DEI front in 2024. Here are a few of the key dates and actions that happened throughout the year. 

  • January 15, 2024: Macy’s released its 2023 Corporate Responsibility Report
  • April 18, 2024: Macy’s announced the appointment of Abigail James as SVP and Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Officer
  • May 29, 2024: Macy’s posted a press release titled, “Macy’s, Inc. Honors National LGBTQ+ Pride Month”

This indicates that Macy’s was investing in its DEI team, policies, and programs throughout 2024. 

 

Inactive In 2025

As of February of 2025, Macy’s still has its DEI web page live. However, most of the data and stories are from 2023 and 2024. 

In addition, Macy’s has skipped some key dates from previous years:

  • Corporate Responsibility Report: Macy’s released its 2024 Corporate Responsibility Report in early January of 2025 for the fiscal year of 2023. The company did not release that report in January of 2025.
  • DEI-related Press Releases: Macy’s issued its most recent press release tagged with the category of “Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion” in May of 2024. It hasn’t released one since. Here are the number of DEI-related press releases by year:

However, it has cut down on public announcements, reports, and data-sharing in the past year.
