Internal Email Reveals Shutdown of DEI Function

An internal email obtained by ABC 10News shows that Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon told employees the company would end its DEI program due to regulatory requirements under the current presidential administration.

The message stated, ‘To ensure compliance, first we will no longer have a DEI function.’

Employee Resource Groups Will Remain (With Reduced Programming)

While the company is discontinuing its formal DEI department, employee-led groups like the Black Inclusion Group and Asian and Pacific Islander (API) group will remain active.

However, select programming will now be managed by Human Resources, and other initiatives will be phased out.

Summary

Qualcomm is the latest major employer to scale back formal DEI operations, citing federal pressure while maintaining that its values and principles remain unchanged.
