KB Home Leaves California For Arizona

KB Home, one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S., is relocating its corporate headquarters from Los Angeles, California, to Tempe, Arizona. The company announced the move on April 8, 2026.
KB Home employs over 2,300 people and is valued at around $3.5 billion.
Beginning in spring 2027, KB Home will establish its new headquarters in the Phoenix metro area, specifically at Hayden Ferry Lakeside in Tempe. The company said the move will bring executive leadership and key corporate functions together in a more central location and help lower its cost structure over time.

Why KB Home Is Moving
In the company’s announcement, CEO Robert McGibney said the move is meant to improve collaboration and support the next phase of growth.
“This move brings our teams together in a more collaborative environment, and Phoenix is the right place to do it. It positions KB Home to operate more effectively and supports the next phase of our growth.”
KB Home said Arizona offers a more central location within its national footprint, easier access to transportation, and a business environment expected to improve efficiency over the long term.
At the same time, the company said it will maintain a significant presence in California through its six operating divisions. According to a company spokesperson, KB Home still has more than 100 communities open statewide.
