FlexiSpot Ergonomic Chair Pro
Rating: 4.9 stars
The FlexiSpot Ergonomic Chair Pro is my fourth legitimate home office chair (I sat on some folding chairs early in my WFH career, but those don’t count). If you’re in a hurry, here is my jam-packed, two-sentence review of the ergonomic high-back office chair:
Once I assembled it, three things jumped out to me about the FlexiSpot Ergonomic Chair Pro: 1) versatility – everything is adjustable on multiple planes, 2) quality materials – the chassis is sturdier and heavier than any I’ve seen, the mesh material is strong and flexible, and 3) breathability – each part of your body is suspended in the air by fabric (no parts are skin-on-cushion, which gets hot).
If you want a high-quality, ergonomic chair that won’t break the bank (like a Herman Miller at $2,000), you’ll be very happy with the FlexiSpot chair I have.

Assembling The FlexiSpot Chair
Assembly Rating: 4.8 stars
🟢 Overall easy assembly (it took me 45 minutes while capturing video and pictures)
🟢 Well written instructions and a simple process (just six steps)
🟢 It’s well designed, which makes it easy to see where parts fit
🟢 Most of the work has already been done (you’ll see many screws already in place)
🟡 The screws aren’t labeled – it was easy to determine when you lay them out, but I prefer labels
The FlexiSpot Ergonomic Chair Pro comes in one box that is 31.5 by 15.7 by 25.2 inches. The chair itself weighs 45 pounds, so the whole package must be about 50. I also have a FlexiSpot standing desk, which I mentioned was probably a two-person job at 128 pounds(!) of packaging.
This FlexiSpot chair, in contrast, can definitely be a one-person job.
I’m bad at assembling things (and I love to blame Ikea or Amazon or whoever for my issues), so I always put off assembly. To my surprise, this was an easy assembly. There are good instructions, just six steps, and it’s easy to figure out where things go because of the quality design. It took me 45 minutes, but that included my time capturing video and photos. I’d set aside 35 minutes.

Features Of The Modern, Ergonomic Office Chair
Features Rating: 5.0 stars
🟢 Just about everything can be adjusted on multiple planes (like up/down, side-to-side, front-back, or recline)
🟢 You can lock in at any recline position (every other office chair I’ve used you are either locked upright or free-moving on the recline)
🟢 The seat moves forward and backward in relation to the backrest which allows you to fit your posture and body best
🟢 The mesh contours to your bum/legs and back
🟢 The wheels (and wheel frame) are sturdy, and quiet when moving
This ergonomic, high-back office chair is pretty tricked out with features. It is well built, sturdy, and built to last… but also comes with everything you need to adjust it to your body and adjust it to your preference that day. Here are my favorite features (and the ones I find to be unique):
- Lock in at any point along the recline
- Twist the armrests left or right to fit the angle of your forearms
- Move the seat forward or backward over the base so you can fit in nicely with the backrest
Comfort Of FlexiSpot’s Ergonomic Chair
Comfortability Rating: 5.0 stars
🟢 Breathability at every part of the chair – it is strong, stretchy mesh rather than fabric and cushion
🟢 The seat elevates your body off of the chair and suspends your weight in the air – it’s firm, but flexible
🟢 The ability to slide the seat forward or backward in relation to the backrest allows for you to find the perfect fit
🟢 It has a wide recline range and allows you to lock in at any point along the recline
🟢 The headrest is adjustable in multiple ways and is arched to fit your spine
The assembly was easy and the versatile features jumped out at me right away. But I needed to give it a few work sessions before reporting on the comfortability of this ergonomic mesh office chair.
It’s extremely comfortable, and it accomplishes that in three ways – 1) the mesh is firm and strong so it supports me well, but it is also 2) flexible and contours to fit your body, and 3) it breathes really well (your body is never sitting on cushion, you’re always suspended in air on the mesh).
If you want a supportive and firm but flexible ergonomic chair, this is a fantastic option. If you’re looking for the cushion-y, cozy vibe, this isn’t right.
Office Chair Design & Quality
Design Rating: 4.9 stars
🟢 Multiple color options (red, grey, light blue, and black)
🟢 Modern, sleek, high-performance look and feel
🟢 High quality, sturdy, steady, and quiet (when spinning, wheeling, or reclining)
🟢 No cushion filling anywhere (which ends up getting punctured and spilling out deep in the years of ownership)
🟡 You get a black and silver bottom regardless of your color choice
If you’re looking for a modern, sleek design, this Flexispot ergonomic chair is a great choice. I don’t intend to be mean to the other office chair my wife and I have in our two-person office, but here it is in comparison:
It’s not a contest. The parts are high quality and the design is modern and smooth.
Ergonomic Support
Support Rating: 4.9 stars
🟢 The back supports the natural S-curve of the spine
🟢 Adjustable, ergonomic headrest with an arched design
🟢 Waterfall front on the seat (to take pressure off your knees and back of your legs)
🟢 Adjustable seat height so your knees can be level and your feet can reach the ground
🟢 Ability to recline in the chair (and lock in at various points along the recline for support)
🟢 Adjustable armrests that are contoured, broad, and comfortable
I sit in an office chair in my home office, just like you. I’m not a doctor or product designer, so I started this review with basically no knowledge of what “ergonomic” and “lumbar support” meant. Add to that… every office chair claims to be ergonomic.
I turned to this article from the University of Pittsburg to fact check the chair for ergonomic properties. In the article, there are 10 questions to determine if a chair is ergonomic and provides good support for your back, spine, and legs.
I could answer “yes” for all 10 questions about The FlexiSpot Ergonomic Chair Pro.
To me, the main feature is its adjustability that allows for most people within a broad range of height and weight to fit the chair perfectly to their needs.
