Austin Coworking Spaces I Contacted But Couldn’t Visit
In this section, you’ll find the coworking spaces I wanted to visit but it never happened. I contacted each of these spaces, but didn’t visit for one of these reasons:
- I never heard back
- We couldn’t find a time that worked for both of us
- It’s too far out of town (compared to the reviews I already booked)
These are all worthy of being the best coworking space in Austin, but I couldn’t assess them head-to-head with the ones I visited personally.
The Cathedral
Why I didn’t visit: I double booked and couldn’t find another time (completely my fault). Kat, the Community Manager, was responsive, nice, and helpful.
- Address: 2403 E 16th St. Austin, TX 78702
- What Stands Out:
- Refurbished 1930s church
- Plenty of free parking
- Unique events: It doubles as an event space and has food, art, and music events regularly
- Pricing: Standard coworking package starts at $250/month
Visit The Cathedral’s website.
Createscape
Why I didn’t visit: I booked a time, but then cancelled. I had five bookings already in downtown Austin.
- Address: 701 Tillery St #12, Austin, TX 78702
- What Stands Out
- Free parking
- Onsite gym (requires additional membership)
- Longevity: Createscape has been around since 2014 (many “hot” Austin coworking spaces have gone out of business)
- Pricing: Open desk membership starts at $250/month
Vessel Coworking
Why I didn’t visit: I reached out but never heard back. It’s not necessarily a negative – some spaces don’t want to be reviewed.
- Location: 500 E St Johns Ave Suite 2.620, Austin, TX 78752
- What Stands Out:
- Your first day is free (try it out before you pay)
- Longevity: Vessel has been around since 2016 (many “hot” Austin coworking spaces have gone out of business)
- Pricing: 24/7 flex seating starting at $275/month
Spaces I Chose Not To Visit (But Still Deserve A Mention)
The following coworking spaces look good, but for several reasons, I chose not to visit. But, they still might fit your needs. These are the reasons I usually choose not to visit:
- Too niche for my audience (it’s an incubator more than a coworking space, it’s too far out of town, it focuses just on the food industry, etc.)
- It’s a chain and I’ve visited their spaces in other cities
Capital Factory
Why I didn’t visit: This place looks amazing, but it seems more like an incubator than a coworking space. Do your own research on this one.
A quick note from my research: This very well might be the best coworking space in Austin. But it if you just need a place to put your head down and work for a few days per week, this won’t be your choice. If you have a tech startup and need funding, mentorship, and a network, you might not find a better option anywhere.
- Location: 701 Brazos St, Austin, TX 78701
- What Stands Out:
- An ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors
- Hundreds of events
- Multiple spaces in Austin
- Pricing: Unknown
Visit Capital Factory’s website.
Wework – 600 Congress
Why I didn’t visit: I’ve seen a number of Weworks, so I typically don’t visit and review them.
- Location: 600 Congress Ave., Austin TX 78701
- This is directly across the street from Common Desk (read my review of that space for location details)
- What Stands Out:
- The network of Weworks (work from any location)
- Busy, fun area on 6th Street (but also a downside for parking)
- Great roof deck/balcony
- Pricing: WeWork All Access (daily coworking access from any location) starts at $299
Visit this location on Wework’s website.
Spaces – 111 Congress
Why I didn’t visit: I considered visiting, and it looks nice, but I chose to reach out to eight places and this would’ve been my ninth or tenth option.
- Location: 111 Congress Ave. STE 500, Austin, TX 78704
- What Stands Out:
- The network of Spaces (work from any location)
- Parking spots available
- Pricing: Coworking from any of their 3,000 locations starts at $269/month
