Maroon New Orleans - Coworking Space

Rating: 3.9 stars

Maroon is a coworking space for black entrepreneurs in New Orleans. Unfortunately, that doesn’t describe me, so I’m not the best person to review this space. Here’s everything I did learn on my visit to the space.

Positives:

  • Has a focus and target audience (if you’re in the target audience) which likely improves the networking
  • Small space, so you’ll likely know everybody in the office
  • Nice amenities for a small space: podcast studio, virtual and dedicated mailboxes, shower

Negatives:

  • Excludes a good portion of the population with its focus (ie. it’s not really an option for many coworkers)
  • The 10 private offices are full (that’s not a negative, per se, it’s just not an option for newcomers right now)
  • The space was completely empty and I get the feeling individual coworking memberships are low (a negative for a space that focuses on community)

See where Maroon ranks amongst the best coworking spaces in New Orleans.

Who It’s For

Primarily for black entrepreneurs and black-owned small businesses seeking a collaborative and networking environment.

The poster below is featured at the front of the coworking space, visible from the street. This is the community they are looking to build at Maroon.

  • If this vibes with your beliefs, then this will be a nice, small space to work and network.
  • If this doesn’t describe you, you’ll need to look at other New Orleans coworking options like Scale New Orleans (two blocks away) and The Shop at CAC (three blocks away)
