FlexiSpot C7 Mesh Ergonomic Chair

Rating: 4.9 stars

The FlexiSpot C7 is my fifth legitimate home office chair (I sat on some folding chairs early in my WFH career, but those don’t count). If you’re in a hurry, here is my jam-packed, two-sentence review of the ergonomic high-back office chair:

FlexiSpot C7 with footrestOnce I assembled it, three things jumped out to me about FlexiSpot’s  FlexiChair C7 (the mesh version): 1) innovation – the retractable footrest and dynamic (moves as you move) lumbar support cushion are two things I’ve never seen on an office char, 2) customizability – every aspect of the chair is customizable from the headrest to the armrests, height, depth, lumbar cushion, and footrest, and 3) quality – it weighs 55 pounds and has nothing but sturdy and well-made parts.

If you want a high-quality, highly supportive ergonomic chair with lumbar support, you’ll be very happy with the FlexiSpot C7.

Pros Cons
  • Easy assembly: 30 minutes (while filming)
  • Lumbar support cushion
  • Retractable footrest
  • Ergonomic design: The back supports the natural S-curve of the spine, the headrest has an arched design, waterfall seat takes the pressure off your legs
  • Adjustable: Everything can be adjusted on multiple planes (like up/down, side-to-side, front-back, or recline)
  • Sturdy, flexible, breathable mesh: The mesh seat and back contour to your body, lift you off the chair so it breathes, and provide firm but flexible support
  • High-quality materials: Heavy, sturdy, long-lasting parts
  • Takes an investment: Typically $650 – there are chairs that claim to be ergonomic for much less
  • Some heavy assembly moments: Maybe I’m bad at assembly (I am), but some parts were heavy and hard to work with until I found the right angle
  • Limited colors: There are four color options, but they are all black, gray, or a combination with some weight

Assembling The FlexiSpot Chair

Assembly Rating: 4.9 stars

🟢 Overall easy assembly (it took me 30 minutes while capturing video and pictures)
🟢 Well-written instructions and a simple process (just six steps)
🟢 It’s well-designed, which makes it easy to see where parts fit
🟢 Most of the work has already been done (you’ll see many screws already in place)
🟡 There are some heavy parts that might require a second set of hands

I’m bad at assembling things (and I love to blame Ikea or Amazon or whoever for my issues), so I always put off assembly. To my surprise, this was an easy assembly. There are good instructions and it’s easy to figure out where things go because of the quality design. It took me 30 minutes.

Features Of The FlexiChair Mesh C7

Features Rating: 5.0 stars

🟢 Everything is adjustable (highly customizable)
🟢 The footrest is unique (and retractable)
🟢 The lumbar cushion helps a lot with your back
🟢 The mesh design is breathable, comfortable, and firm

This is the most customizable chair I’ve ever had. It also is the first one I’ve had with lumbar support and a footrest. It’s innovative and customizable.

Comfort Of FlexiSpot’s Ergonomic Chair

Comfortability Rating: 5.0 stars

🟢 Breathability at every part of the chair
🟢 Each aspect can tilt more than a normal chair (the headrest, backrest, armrests, etc.)
🟢 It’s comfortable in many positions (forward tilt, locked upright, backward tilt, and while using the footrest)

It is extremely comfortable and versatile. It’s the first chair I’ve ever seen with this much versatility.

Office Chair Design & Quality

Design Rating: 4.9 stars

🟢 High-quality, heavy materials (it’s a 55-pound chair)
🟢 Modern, sleek, tricked-out chair
🟢 Steady, sturdy, and quiet
🟢 No cushion filling anywhere (which ends up getting punctured and spilling out deep in the years of ownership)
🟡 Simple color options (black, gray, or combinations with white)

If you’re looking for a modern, highly customizable, insanely versatile office chair, the FlexiSpot C7 is a great choice.

Ergonomic & Lumbar Support

Support Rating: 5.0 stars

🟢 The back supports the natural S-curve of the spine
🟢 Adjustable, ergonomic headrest with an arched design
🟢 Lumbar support cushion (that can be locked or track your movements)
🟢 Unique footrest option (to lean back in your chair)
🟢 Adjustable everything: footrest, headrest, lumbar cushion, chair height, recline, etc.
