The hourly rate you see is the full-time salary divided by 40 hours per week, divided by 52 weeks in the year. It is not necessarily the rate you’d receive at one of these jobs, but it is a simple indicator of the value. We also included salary rank across our list of 20 remote/evening jobs, a description of the role, why the role lends itself to remote work and overnight/evening work, and a link to a remote job board we recommend, Flexjobs, so you can find a job.

Henry working remotely in the eveningMy Experience Working Remotely In The Evenings

My company, Buildremote, started out as an evening-only, fully remote side job for me. I worked on Buildremote for two years with a full-time, 9-5 job before I started working for myself full time.

I worked about 10 hours per week on the business – mostly after the kids went to bed or early in the morning before they woke up. Here’s how and why it worked for me:

  1. Being able to do it remotely meant I didn’t have to commute, I could get right to work. Something like a bartending job couldn’t provide that.
  2. Working for myself, I could work as much or as little as I wanted each night.
  3. Once I started earning some income, I could hire contractors to help me grow faster.

Building something at night isn’t for everyone. But if you’re committed, there’s plenty of opportunity to earn extra in the evenings.
