Honda Orders US Staff Into The Office 80% Of The Time
Honda is shifting gears on its workplace model.
In an internal memo shared with employees on April 23, 2025, Honda announced that all U.S.-based staff will be required to work onsite at least 80% of the time starting October 6, 2025.
The memo, signed by American Honda’s President and CEO Kazuhiro Takizawa and Honda Development & Manufacturing of America’s President Kensuke Oe, emphasized that in-person collaboration is critical for innovation and competitiveness.
“Beginning October 6, Honda will return to a majority onsite work style requiring our associates to work on-site 80% of the time,” the spokesperson said. “This decision is driven by the rapidly changing business environment, which requires increased collaboration and innovation that we believe can best be achieved through in-person teamwork. Our work policy will continue to provide flexibility for our associates to work remotely up to 20% of the time.”
