Criteria & Sources To Rank The Best Faang Company

Here are the four criteria we used to rank the best FAANG company to work for. Each of the four areas was given equal rating in the calculation. Here’s where each one came from:

Average base salary: This comes from Payscale. We chose the base salary rather than total earnings because bonus can be subjective based on role and type of company.

Work-life balance rating: This is Buildremote’s own rating that aggregates three separate sources into one:

  • GlassdoorWork-life ratings are on a scale of 0-5
  • Indeed: Work-life ratings are on a scale of 0-5
  • Comparably: Work-life ratings are on a school rating scale of F-A

Buildremote’s rating puts all three ratings on the same scale, 0-100, and gives each equal weight.

Culture rating: This rating also comes from the same three sites, gives equal weighting, and puts it on a scale of 0-100:
